The Louisiana Children’s Discovery Center offers local teens and adolescents, ages 12-16, a unique opportunity during the summer to perform community service and exploration of early childhood education careers and experience in an environment of commitment and responsibility. The annual Junior Volunteer Program is for young adults age 12 through 16 who are willing to be a part of the day-to-day activities of a busy children’s museum.
Upon completion of the training session, each participant will be issued a certificate and will become an LCDC Certified Junior Volunteer. Volunteers will be expected to participate throughout the summer, but the LCDC will work around vacation and family schedules.
Those under the age of 16 are required to have written permission of a parent or guardian. All hours are recorded, and can be used for community service requirements for school organizations.
